It was the year Gigsville moved back off the esplanade and had the huge open area in the middle of camp. We set up our first stage with the rear projection screen and photo slide shows. George served us a Thanksgiving turkey dinner complete with all the extras. NonnyMouse asked me to marry her to herself - and so we had a grand wedding.

It was also a turning point for me. Up to now, Burningman had been one big party. However for the very first time a piece of art moved me. Visiting David Best and Jack Haye's Temple of Tears was a an incredibly moving and cathartic experience. David stood outside it all day and explained it's significance and the story behind it - ask me about it sometime and I will share the story. They had had little blocks of wood and on it people wrote notes to people they had lost - people they had never had a chance to say goodbye to. I first visited the temple with a group of friends but soon realized that I had to come back alone... and so I did. I have no idea how long I spent in there but it was an incredible experience. Art had finally touched me.
