Tribe Newbies

Tribesters in 2010

First – WELCOME to the Tribe!  Here are a few things you need to do at your earliest (each link opens in a new window):

  1. Introduce yourself – Once you have been added to the mailing list, send a note introducing yourself to your fellow members. You can do thiss by posting a note to the camp mailing list at bmy2k @yahoogroups.com (remove the space before the @ symbol to fix the email link) and please include the following info:
    • Your name and/or nickname/playaname
    • Who you are – where you live – what you do
    • Hobbies, interests, likes/dislikes/mad skilz, etc
    • Your burning man history (if any) or how you learned about BM
    • Any special plans for this year
    • Who referred you to the TriBe (if any) or how you found the Tribe
  2. Arrival info – we need to know when you will arrive, how much space you would need (please be conservative as prime land is precious and we are invariably short on space) – fill out this survey
    http://tinyurl.com/2011TribeArrivals
  3. Mealplan - We have an optional mealplan.  If you have dietary restrictions or severe allergies, you may want to consider taking care of your own meals.  Most opt in – in which case you would either prepare one meal for the entire Tribe, or do clean-up after a couple of meals.  To view the mealplan and find open days and time see:
    http://burningtribe.com/mealplan
then send email to lisaevil @burningtribe.com if you wish to participate in the mealplan, and let her know how you wish to contribute (meal or labor)
  4. Member Page – Since we come from all around the world, this is one way for us to kinda get to know each other online before we meet in person in the dust.  See: http://burningtribe.com/members
At your earliest, please sent ruvi @ burningtribe.com an email with the following information:

    • Your name (or nickname – as you wish it to appear on the website)
    • A photo of yourself
    • A one-liner note about yourself – it can be serious or goofy
    • Your current city/state/country
  5. Get your Tribe dues into Jim at your very earliest.  Costs go up as we get closer to BM – Questions:  jimbowers @burningtribe.com
  6. Go back to the Newbie page and at leisure, peruse through the different links in the Newbie guide at the bottom of the page.

Once again, welcome to the Tribe!
